Astrid Lindgren Stage
The Astrid Lindgren Theatre is committed to the credo of its namesake: Like the world-famous Swedish author of books for children and young people, Astrid Lindgren (1907-2002), the performances transport the young audience into an imaginative world of adventure, poetry and music. Like the singing and playing characters on stage, the theatre wants to encourage children to be true to themselves and to follow their imagination and curiosity in the world. The Astrid Lindgren Theatre has three venues - the main stage with 559 seats and the Puppenbühne and the Studiobühne with 80 respectively 100 seats. In addition to guest performances from the fields of puppet theatre, drama, music and dance, the stage also presents its own repertoire plays such as Astrid Lindgren's ‘Pippi Longstocking’, ‘Michel from Lönneberga’ and ‘The Little Aquarius’ based on Otfried Preußler.
