Theaterhaus Berlin | Schöneweide
For over 30 years, theaterhaus berlin has been a production centre and networking platform for the independent performing arts in Berlin. With two locations – in the central district of Mitte and in the idyllic, waterfront surroundings of Schöneweide – it offers the largest contingent of rehearsal rooms in Berlin as well as an inspiring environment for creative work and artistic endeavour.
It offers affordable, needs-specific rehearsal rooms for performance, artistry, dance and theatre. The offer is aimed at professional performing artists from the local and international independent scene. The Schöneweide location is currently undergoing renovation and has 16 newly refurbished rehearsal rooms. Once the renovation work is complete, a total of 34 rooms ranging in size from 15 m² to 115 m² and a 218 m² studio stage will be available. In close cooperation with artists, venues and cultural policy makers in the city, theaterhaus berlin is committed to strengthening the structure, networking and visibility of Berlin's independent scene.
The theaterhaus berlin is operated by the cultural initiative Förderband gGmbH and funded by the Senate Department for Culture and Social Cohesion.
